AUDITORY INTEGRATION TRAINING  (AIT)

What is AIT?

Auditory Integration Training (AIT), as developed by French otolaryngologist Dr. Guy
Berard and based on the work of his predecessor, Dr. Alfred Tomatis, typically consists
of 20 half-hour sessions of listening to specially modulated music over a 10-to-20-day
period. This non-invasive educational and therapeutic approved listening program is
FDA approved.

AIT has been reported to be beneficial in ameliorating symptoms of a number of
conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, Asperger's
Syndrome, PDD (Pervasive Developmental Delay), Central Auditory Processing
Disorder,  Down’s Syndrome, Language Delays and Communication Disorders, Learning
Disabilities, Focus and Attentional Deficits, and all conditions where hypersensitive
hearing and/or auditory distortion may be part of the diagnosis.

Improvement in auditory discrimination and processing can result in better social skills,
sleeping habits, behavior, concentration, reading ability and academic performance in
children.  Adults report increased focus and decreased tension levels, lessened anxiety
and depression, and corresponding improvements in relationships and job performance.

AIT has been known to accelerate progress with allied therapies such as speech,
occupational therapy, movement and other developmental therapies.  DAN (Defeat
Autism Now) doctors advise parents to consider AIT as one of the first interventions to
alleviate symptoms of autism, reduce painful hearing (hyperacusis), and improve
receptive and expressive language.

AIT can be provided as a home program, or at The Learning Curve Educational Center.

The Learning Curve serves Riverside, San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties of
California,  and other areas by special arrangement.
